Raggedy Ann and Andy nursery decorations Decorating your baby’s nursery with a Raggedy Ann and Andy theme takes a little bit of  planning, but having these timeless dolls as your decor will be priceless. This theme is also great for a boy or a girl, so you can decorate your nursery ahead of time, even if the sex of your baby is going to be a surprise!

Start with crib bedding.  Go for a set of crib sheets that do not have the characters on them, but have the blue or red gingham pattern instead. This classic checkerboard pattern will be easy to match with other sets should you decide to change the decor at some point.  Tadpoles Classic Gingham Crib Skirt in red or blue is a great place to start. Match it with the crib sheets and the crib bumper.

There are several ways to have a room with this theme. You can go all out and fill the room with your beloved rag doll images.  Or, you can go with a red or blue color theme and choose the blue or blue gingham accessories such as curtains and sheets.  Then accent the room with some actual dolls. Another way to do a wonderful rag doll theme is to make the room more of a soft “Country Baby Theme” with quilts and country accessories and then place a few strategic Raggedy Ann dolls into the room for the finishing touch.  This is especially good if you have a beautiful red white and blue country quilt that is a family heirloom.

If you keep more of the items in the classic blue gingham color and highlight other areas of the nursery in red, this will keep the balance of the Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls with their clothing and red yarn hair color.  Or if you prefer a really brightly colored room, then go with red accessories.

Next, select your wall covering. Choose a soft yellow paint color for  your Raggedy Ann and Andy decorating.  Or, if you are going for more of a red or blue theme, choose to do a chair-rail height paint color for the lower portion and white for the top.

If you choose to accent your walls, large wall stickers often make the best choice for children’s room decorating since they are an inexpensive way to make a big impact on a room’s overall look.  As your baby grows, these can be easily removed in the future to reflect your child’s changing taste.  If you get a Raggedy Ann sticker set, apply them to your walls and carry them over to the furniture too, such as in the above photo where the flowers have been placed on the headboard.  In addition to the stickers sets there are also large mural type stickers that can be found.  Or, if you would rather go with traditional wall paper, here is a cute Raggedy Ann and Andy wall paper border that is available.

Choose some curtains or a short valence that match the crib set. You can either go with blue or red gingham valence and a solid color for the curtains that hang down.

Finally it’s time to accessorize the room!  You’ll need a cute lamp, maybe a picture frame and a ginham colored diaper stacker.

And of course you will need several of the beloved Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls to prop around the room. In fact, the more the merrier!  Big ones and small ones.  Pile them around and enjoy!
