This theme is also great for a boy or a girl, so you can decorate your nursery ahead of time, even if the sex of your baby is going to be a surprise!

Start with crib bedding.  Go for a set of crib sheets that do not have the characters on them, but have the blue or red gingham pattern instead. This classic checkerboard pattern will be easy to match with other sets should you decide to change the decor at some point.  Tadpoles Classic Gingham Crib Skirt in red or blue is a great place to start. Match it with the crib sheets and the crib bumper.

There are several ways to have a room with this theme. You can go all out and fill the room with your beloved rag doll images.  Or, you can go with a red or blue color theme and choose the blue or blue gingham accessories such as curtains and sheets.  Then accent the room with some actual dolls. Another way to do a wonderful rag doll theme is to make the room more of a soft “Country Baby Theme” with quilts and country accessories and then place a few strategic Raggedy Ann dolls into the room for the finishing touch.  This is especially good if you have a beautiful red white and blue country quilt that is a family heirloom.

Next, select your wall covering. Choose a soft yellow paint color for  your Raggedy Ann and Andy decorating.  Or, if you are going for more of a red or blue theme, choose to do a chair-rail height paint color for the lower portion and white for the top.

And of course you will need several of the beloved Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls to prop around the room. In fact, the more the merrier!  Big ones and small ones.  Pile them around and enjoy!

It comes as a set of stickers that require careful placement on your walls for maximum effect.  Some of the previous users of these stickers offer some good tips.

When applying these Winnie the Pooh stickers,  you will want another person to help you. Sometimes the glue is stickier than you may anticipate, and lifting and moving the decals to re-use them may damage them, so you want to get it right the first time.

In addition to having a helper install them, it is recommended that you DO NOT peel the decals directly from the sheet since they are very thing and will rip very easily.  INSTEAD, keep the decal on the sheet and peel off all the excess border around it from the sheet.  Then what you have left will be only the decal which will remove easily at that point since the additional material is not clinging to it any longer.   This will give you the best result.

In the photo you can see the rope attached at the center of the large tree branch (where the two tree decals meet).   When you put the tree decals together you will not see the seam.  Also, by placing the rope on the lower branch where the limbs diverge, you can enlarge the decal slightly.  Apply the falling leaves, flowers and butterflies on the area around it in a wispy pattern instead of randomly, and you’ll get more flow from your image onto the wall.

For best results, experiment with your layout by hanging it with some masking tape while it is still on the paper backing to make sure you have your placement right where you want it the first time.

With distinctive characters like Raggedy Ann and Andy, it’ s best to choose sheets that do not actually have the characters printed on them, but instead to choose crib sheets that match the characters outfits and general coloring.  There are so many different ways that the characters are drawn, that it may be difficult to get items with printed characters to match, which is why the gingham theme is actually the way to go.
